I've decided that rather than write "a slightly more accessible version of my thesis", I'm going to spend a little while seeing if I can communicate those ideas in the form of a novel. Maybe it'll work, maybe it won't. And I can always return to the "slightly more accessible version of my thesis" if it doesn't. If Ken MacLeod can make a successful career out of academic discussions of revolutionary politics by disguising them as science fiction novels, then perhaps I can get a few extra people to consider the ideas of sustainability by tricking them into thinking they're reading an espionage caper? Worth a try, though, eh? Cheers folks.
